Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Fuel Service Associate in Bordentown, NJ to ensure accurate gasoline disbursement and recording for customer vehicles. You will enter fuel usage in the AS400 system via TC75, drive service vehicles, and support sale day activities as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with related experience, safe driving, and basic mechanical knowledge. A customer‑centric approach and reliability are essential in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of related work experience, OR any degree or certification above a High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of related work experience, OR 5 years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and accurately record gasoline disbursed in vehicles.
• Enter fuel usage in AS400 via TC75.
• Start vehicles, check fuel gauges, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.
• Operate a service truck and answer radio calls.
• Report and record Auction gasoline levels and alert proper person to avoid running out of gasoline in main fill area.
• Report inoperable vehicles to Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
• Jump start vehicles and put air in tires if needed.
• Report damage or malfunctioning equipment on vehicles (i.e., pumps, fuel trucks).
• Assist customers in locating vehicles.
• Assist in sale day duties as needed (drive, act as lane leader, jump start vehicles, change tires, etc.).
• Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

This position assists in providing service to customers and their vehicles by disbursing and accurately recording gasoline disbursement in vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

• Start vehicles, check fuel gages, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.
• Operate a service truck and answering radio calls.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years of related work experience, OR any degree or certification above a High School Diploma/GED plus 1 year of related work experience, OR 5 years of related work experience.
• Safe drivers needed; Valid driver's license required.
• Effective customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.

Preferred

• Basic computer skills preferred.

Work Schedule

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday (7:30am-4:30pm)

USD 16.63 - 24.90 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $16.63 - $24.90/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
