Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Part Time Security Officer at our Boston, MA site. You will staff the front desk, welcome visitors, verify authorization, and maintain records while ensuring safety and a positive environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, incident response, and collaboration with school staff and emergency responders. Schedule flexibility and a shift-based day/night pattern are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, families, visitors, faculty, and staff by carrying out site-specific security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify authorization, maintain visitor records and credentials.
• Monitor access points, cameras, communications, and alarms; report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and concerns in a calm, professional manner following school procedures.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by coordinating with school administrators and emergency responders.
