Allied Universal® is seeking a Part Time Security Officer at our Boston, MA site. You will staff the front desk, welcome visitors, verify authorization, and maintain records while ensuring safety and a positive environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, incident response, and collaboration with school staff and emergency responders. Schedule flexibility and a shift-based day/night pattern are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeFri11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, families, visitors, faculty, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify authorization in accordance with school policies, and maintain visitor records and/or issue visitor credentials.
• Monitor access points, cameras, communications, and alarm notifications from the front desk; report unusual activity, facility concerns, or unauthorized access to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established school procedures.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by providing clear information, maintaining professional communication, and coordinating with school administrators, staff, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
