Job Description

Objectives: To warmly greet members and potential members, answer questions, provide information, and ensure a pleasant visit.

Reports to: Front Desk Manager or Assistant Front Desk Manager and/or Manager on Duty when Front Desk manager is unavailable.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Arrive 5-10 minutes early to check daily communication log updates.
• Audit cash drawer when assuming control of the department in the presence of a manager.
• Dress in appropriate attire, including nametag and promotional buttons for new activities sponsored by AFF.
• Clock in under your employee number.
• Greet members and guests by name upon entering the club in a friendly manner.
• Remain at the member services desk unless on break or assisting members in the Cafe.
• Understand and implement the guest policy.
• Monitor member check-in by verifying membership card and photo ID.
• Administer the UPS system for the Membership Directors when assigned to the POS position.
• Answer phones within three rings, direct calls, and take detailed messages.
• Record and initial all phone messages, including caller's name, phone number, and call reason.
• Ensure members check in for classes by stamping hands and recording check-in times.
• Attend mandatory monthly meetings.
• Collect member payments when assigned to the POS, retaining copies of receipts for credit transactions.
• Open and close the club according to checklists.
• Inform members of upcoming activities, promotions, and policy updates.
• Maintain a clean and attractive member services area.
• Complete all assigned tasks on the shift assignment page.
• Work a minimum of 35 hours/week for full-time and 15 hours/week for part-time employees, including weekends.
• Adjust staffing as needed during slow traffic periods.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
