Job description

Employment Type: Part time

Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift

Description: Please note that this position is not remote and requires you to work on campus at Loyola.

Responsible for assisting the nursing staff in the continuous monitoring of patients requiring close observation via remote camera monitoring. Works cooperatively with the nursing staff and other healthcare personnel to maintain a safe environment and ensure patient safety and comfort. This position works under limited supervision and receives guidance from the Manager of Virtual Monitoring.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain continuous visual alertness for 12-16 active patients without distraction.
  • Remain alert to patient behaviors and movements via CCTV with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities.
  • Verbally redirect patients using digital two-way audio and alert nursing staff as necessary.
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically with patients and staff.
  • Meet nursing staff expectations to keep patients safe.
  • Provide detailed shift-to-shift reports on patient activity.
Requirements:
  • Ability to verbally interact with 12-16 patients in various states of distress while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 healthcare environment, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to report on patient activity verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills; on-the-job training provided.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay Range: $16.50 - $22.11 per hour. Compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certifications, and peer comparison.
