Job summary

Stoltzfus Meats is seeking a dependable and skilled Fresh Meat Cutter to join our team on a part-time basis. The role offers pay between $18.00 and $25.00 per hour, based on experience, and involves preparing retail cuts, stocking displays, and upholding food safety and customer service standards.

The successful candidate will cut, trim, and package fresh meat, operate cutting equipment safely, and collaborate with the Meat Manager to meet daily department goals while providing friendly service

Qualifications

• Experience in meat cutting or butcher work.
• Experience in grocery or retail meat department a plus.
• Familiar with meat-cutting equipment and safety practices.
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, portion, and prepare fresh meat products according to Stoltzfus Meats standards
• Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, ground products, and other retail cuts as needed
• Grind meat and assist with preparation of value-added products
• Package, label, price, and stock fresh meat products for retail display
• Monitor product freshness, appearance, and quality throughout the shift
• Rotate products using proper FIFO practices to help maintain freshness and reduce waste
• Keep display cases clean, organized, attractive, and properly stocked
• Safely operate knives, band saws, grinders, and other meat-cutting equipment
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, cutting surfaces, and work areas according to food safety standards
• Assist with cooler organization, inventory rotation, and product storage
• Support the Meat Manager with daily production priorities and department needs
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service when assisting customers at the counter
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments as needed
• Follow all company food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and operational procedures
