Save a Lot Food Stores is seeking a skilled Full-Time Meat Cutter to join our Williamsport, PA team. Bring your craft to a community-focused grocer where quality and customer satisfaction come first, and help maintain a top-notch meat department.

If you take pride in your work and love the art of butchery, we want to hear from you. Prior meat cutting experience and strong food safety knowledge are highly valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven meat cutting or butcher experience preferred.
• Knowledge of meat cuts, grades and prep techniques.
• Ability to safely operate meat cutting equipment and sharp tools.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and prepare fresh meats to customer and store specs.
• Maintain a fully stocked and attractive meat case throughout the day.
• Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat products accurately.
• Assist customers with selections, orders, and custom cuts.
• Ensure proper rotation and monitor freshness and quality standards.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and food safety practices in the department.
• Operate and maintain meat cutting equipment including band saws, grinders, and slicers.

Responsibilities:

• Cut, trim, and prepare fresh meats including beef, pork, poultry, and specialty cuts to customer and store specifications
• Maintain a fully stocked and visually appealing meat case throughout the day
• Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat products accurately
• Assist customers with meat selections, special orders, and cutting requests
• Ensure proper rotation of product and monitor freshness and quality standards
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines in the meat department
• Operate and maintain meat cutting equipment including band saws, grinders, and slicers

Requirements:

• Previous meat cutting or butcher experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of meat cuts, grades, and preparation techniques
• Ability to safely operate meat cutting equipment and sharp tools
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work in a cold environment and stand for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a full-time schedule including weekends
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude
