Job summary

Methodist ER New Braunfels is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse for its Free Standing ED in New Braunfels, TX. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the medical team, using established nursing models to support outcomes and the patient experience.

Required trainings include ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale within specified timeframes, plus six months RN experience and an appropriate degree or diploma.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 1 year of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of employment start date
• RN with minimum six months of clinical experience
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 90 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after intervention
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider and documents care promptly
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to resolve them
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up measures
• Guides patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures and prepares for future self-management
