Community Housing Innovations (CHI) in Wading River, NY is seeking a part-time Food Handler to prepare, package, and distribute meals for clients in an emergency housing setting. You will support food orders, assist with deliveries, and maintain clean work areas while delivering friendly client service.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and English proficiency, with Spanish being a plus. Flexible weekend shifts and overtime may apply in a nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to two years in a food service environment preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; English required; Spanish a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and serve meals for shift.
• Prepare meal kits for future distribution.
• Assist in receiving and unloading of food deliveries.
• Coordinate with Contracted Food Vendor and inform Program Manager of issues.
• Serve as point of contact for Vendor personnel.
• Clean work area after each meal distribution.
• Record meal counts and submit weekend statistics.
• Provide exemplary customer service to CHI clients and vendors.
• Attend staff meetings and training as scheduled.
