Job summary

Berlin Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. This part-time role supports our 128-bed sub-acute and long-term care facility, with shifts 11AM-7PM on two days per week, no weekends required.

You will maintain clean, safe floors, use stripping, refinishing, and buffing methods, and help sustain a welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as Floor Technician or in a related environmental services role preferred.
• Working knowledge of floor care equipment and maintenance techniques preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures due to physical/environmental risks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care procedures including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing of hard surfaces.
• Operate industrial floor care equipment safely to clean and maintain floors.
• Clean and maintain carpeted and upholstered surfaces via shampooing, vacuuming, spot cleaning, damp cleaning and extraction.
• Conduct routine maintenance and restorative care for all floor types to keep areas clean and polished.
• Follow safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Properly collect and dispose of waste per facility and regulatory standards.
• Report maintenance or safety hazards to supervision.
• Support housekeeping operations to maintain a welcoming environment.
