Job summary

The Learning Experience – South Lyon West is seeking a Part-Time Floater Teacher to support our afternoon and closing hours. You’ll work across Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms, assisting teachers with activities, transitions, and end-of-day routines.

Ideal candidates include high school or college students seeking a consistent part-time schedule (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM–6:30 PM) with paid training, advancement opportunities, and a supportive team in a Safely regulated childcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or currently attending high school.
• Previous experience with children is a plus.
• Able to support different classrooms and age groups.
• Reliable and available during afternoon hours.
• Positive, energetic, flexible, and team-oriented.
• Ability to meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Infant, Toddler, and Preschool programs
• Assist teachers with afternoon activities, transitions, and pick-up routines
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, and outdoor activities
• Help with snacks, classroom cleanup, and end-of-day routines
• Provide teacher break and classroom coverage as needed
• Help maintain required classroom ratios
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized classroom environments
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Part-Time Floater Teacher – Daycare & Preschool

Location: The Learning Experience – South Lyon West, MI

Pay: $16–$18 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–6:30 PM

The Learning Experience – South Lyon West is seeking a dependable and energetic Part-Time Floater Teacher to support our classrooms during the afternoon and closing hours.

This position is a great fit for a high school student, college student, or anyone looking for a consistent part-time afternoon schedule. You’ll work with different classrooms throughout the center, helping our teaching teams while creating a positive end to the day for children and families.
