Job summary

The Learning Experience - Jenison is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You'll work alongside experienced Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships.

This position offers a consistent full-time schedule, a pay rate of $16-$18 per hour based on experience and credentials, and opportunities for training and advancement within a supportive team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience with children preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with classroom routines and learning activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.

Location: The Learning Experience - Jenison, MI

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience and credentials

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm or 9:30am-6:30pm
