Job summary

Elk Creek Fire Protection District, serving Conifer and surrounding areas, seeks a part-time Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair specialized fire/EMS vehicles and heavy apparatus. Training toward ASE and EVT certifications will be provided to help you grow in this hands-on role.

You will work under the Fleet Manager, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain comprehensive maintenance logs. The position is part-time with no additional benefits offered at this time.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of verifiable experience as a mechanic or education in auto or diesel repair.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 70 lbs lifting ability.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle, apparatus, small gas, diesel, and electrical equipment repair.
• Schedule and perform maintenance, repair, and annual testing with tools and instruments.
• Maintain detailed fleet records of maintenance, costs, mileage, and safety checks.
• Assist with annual testing programs for pumps, aerial ladder equipment, and emissions.
• Some building maintenance duties may be required.
