Job summary

Lockport Township Fire Protection District is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair fire apparatus and support vehicles in a growing fleet program. The EVT ensures readiness of engines, ladder trucks, ambulances and staff vehicles to support emergency response operations safely and efficiently, with training offered for the right candidate.

Preferred qualifications include ASE and EVT certifications and NFPA standards knowledge.

The Lockport Township Fire Protection District is committed to maintaining a highly reliable fleet to support emergency response operations in a growing fleet maintenance program. The Emergency Vehicle Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of personnel and the community through proactive maintenance and rapid repair of essential equipment.

The Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all fire district apparatus and support vehicles. This includes fire engines, ladder trucks, ambulances, staff vehicles, and specialized equipment. The EVT ensures all vehicles are maintained in a state of readiness to support emergency response operations safely and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASE Certifications
• EVT Certifications
• Experience working with fire apparatus and EMS vehicles (Ford F550s)
• Knowledge of NFPA 1911 and 1917 standards
• Experience with computer based diagnostic systems
