Job summary

The City of Turlock is accepting applications for the Part-Time Fleet Maintenance Worker position in the Municipal Services Department. This worker will assist Fleet Staff with equipment maintenance, repairs and general housekeeping duties.

Six months of automotive/equipment maintenance experience is desirable; a high school diploma or GED is required. The role is limited to 20 hours per week with an hourly pay range of $16.90 to $23.04 and a California driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience involving automotive, light duty and heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12) grade. Must provide HS diploma or GED; a College Degree may be accepted in lieu of HS diploma.
• Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver's License at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate equipment with lubrication tools.
• Inspect, charge, and replace batteries.
• Change and repair tires on light and heavy equipment.
• Wash and keep shop and equipment clean and orderly.
• May assist Fleet Maintenance Mechanics in mechanical and repair work.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
