Job summary

City of Monterey Park seeks an Equipment Services Specialist to perform preventative and semi-skilled maintenance on a range of automotive and mechanical equipment. The role is part-time and at-will, with no benefits, up to 20 hours per week, reporting to the Equipment Mechanic.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and six months of preventative maintenance experience; mechanical trade courses are a plus, and possession of a Class C California driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED is required.
• Six months of preventative maintenance experience with automotive and power-driven equipment required.
• Current enrollment or completion of mechanical trade courses is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and overhaul a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment.
• Repair or replace conventional, medium-duty tires.
• Test and repair starting and charging systems.
• Recharge batteries.
• Inspect motorized and mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance for all equipment.
• Perform related duties as required.
