Job summary

Renaissance Career Technical Center is seeking a CTE Fire Skills Instructor to assist with hands-on fire science instruction in the Fire Services program. You will support students in developing safe work habits, technical skills, teamwork, and career readiness, under the guidance of the primary instructor.

The role requires Firefighter I, two years of firefighting experience, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to teach and mentor students. Occasional evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Fire service certification such as Firefighter I is required.
• Minimum two years of firefighting or related experience.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider instructor preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Fire Instructor I certification and teaching experience preferred.
• Degree in Fire Science or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the primary instructor in teaching essential fire service skills.
• Support lesson prep and skills activities aligned with curriculum.
• Demonstrate firefighting techniques and proper PPE use.
• Supervise hands-on labs, simulations, and drills.
• Observe performance, provide feedback, and document progress.
• Reinforce safety procedures and organized training space.
• Collaborate with staff and partners to support student learning.
• Communicate student progress and program needs clearly.
