Job summary

Lone Star College-CyFair is seeking a Part-time Fire Science Skills Instructor to provide hands-on lab instruction and assist faculty in delivering course objectives. This role involves teaching Cadets and Firefighters in a lab setting, with supervision from an instructor and regular progress reporting.

The position is limited to 19.5 hours per week, with days/evenings and occasional weekend coverage. Prior Fire Service credentials are preferred; training on safety and equipment is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years’ experience or equivalent.
• Texas Commission on Fire Protection Level I Instructor or Fire Education Specialist I or IFSAC Fire Instructor 1+.
• Texas Commission on Fire Protection Field Examiner.
• Texas Department of Health Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) or higher.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist in skills instruction for students in Fire Science.
• Teach and coach Cadets/Firefighters under supervision of a faculty member.
• Maintain communication with instructors and coordinate lessons.
• Assist in fire service skill evolutions and scenarios.
• Submit learning reports and student evaluations; complete required paperwork.
• Monitor safety protocols and maintain program equipment.
