Job summary

Keystone Experts & Engineers seeks Part Time/Subcontracted Fire Investigators to determine origin and cause of fires across the United States, including residential, commercial, industrial sites, and vehicles. Investigators convey findings verbally or in written reports within Keystone’s turnaround standards.

Required are IAAI-CFI certification (preferred), ability to travel, and knowledge of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033.

Qualifications

• IAAI-CFI certification preferred.
• Ability to perform fire investigations and complete verbal/written reports.
• Willingness to travel to loss locations across residence state and surrounding states.
• Possess Private Investigators license if required by state law.
• Familiarity with NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects.
• Membership in origin and cause organizations (IAAI/NAFI) preferred.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and techniques.
• Experience with Google Docs and G-Suite applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine origin and cause of fires and explosions in residential, commercial, industrial sites, and vehicles.
• Conduct investigations across states; document findings verbally or in written reports with turnaround times.
• Prepare clear, concise, objective reports meeting Keystone’s guidelines for quality and timeliness.
• Communicate findings to clients and stakeholders in a professional manner.
