Job summary

Legends in College Park, MD is seeking a part-time Prep Cook to support fine dining service and events. You will follow opening/closing procedures, prepare items to spec, maintain temperatures, and ensure sanitation in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Culinary training or experience in a fast-paced fine dining setting preferred.
• Able to interact professionally with coworkers to meet service standards.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards and etiquette.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Able to read, speak and write in English.
• Capable of lifting and transporting items up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
• Flexible to work events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor assignments for opening and closing procedures.
• Prepares food items by portion size, quality standards and procedures.
• Maintains proper food temperatures and sanitation of work areas.
• Keeps kitchen clean including shelves, walls, floors and drains.
• Works as part of a team to ensure excellent service and on-time delivery.
• Handles and cleans kitchen equipment safely to prevent damage or injury.
