Job summary

Gordon State College is seeking a Field Placement Coordinator to work with the Director of Field Placement to manage practicum, internship, and student teaching placements. The role focuses on partnerships with school districts and ensuring high-quality clinical experiences aligned with program outcomes.

The position is part-time, up to 19 hours per week, non-benefited, and involves MOUs, documentation, and data reporting for accreditation and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of public P-12 teaching experience.
• Knowledge of GaPSC certification requirements and educator preparation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee placement of teacher candidates in practicum and student teaching experiences.
• Establish MOUs and partnership agreements with school districts.
• Verify placement eligibility requirements and mentor qualifications.
• Monitor placement quality and alignment with program requirements.
• Maintain accurate placement records and related documentation.
• Coordinate reporting for accreditation, assessment, and state reporting purposes.
• Cultivate relationships with school district administrators and cooperating teachers.
• Coordinate orientation and training for candidates, supervisors, and mentors.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and candidate support initiatives.
