Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to support the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) in the United States. You will recruit households, conduct interviews, and communicate the importance of participation in a nationwide health study.

The role requires self-motivation, strong communication, and the ability to work a variable schedule, with most work occurring in evenings and on weekends. A long-term commitment to public health is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Valid US driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet and access to password-protected Wi‑Fi.
• Willingness to work in evenings and weekends and travel to field locations.
• Ability to keep project information confidential.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to recruit study participants in selected locations.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information.
• Transmit data as scheduled and complete Time & Expense reports.
• Safeguard participant incentives, issued equipment, and project materials.
• Attend scheduled virtual meetings and trainings.
