Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to support the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) in the United States.

Responsibilities include contacting households, conducting interviews, and explaining the study. Training is provided; travel and evenings/weekends work are common. The position emphasizes long-term community health impact and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi‑Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Traveling frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants.
• Making in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Approaching households without a prior appointment.
• Adhering to a schedule set by the Field Supervisor.
• Administering computer-assisted interviews and collecting confidential information.
• Transmitting data as scheduled and submitting Time & Expense reports.
• Safeguarding equipment and participant incentives.
• Attending scheduled meetings and trainings.
• Field observations and completing administrative tasks.
