Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a part-time Archaeological Field Technician to assist with monitoring and Phase I–III investigations across multiple regions in the United States. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology and completion of an accredited field school, with preference for Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern experience.

Lodging and per diem are provided or reimbursed; mileage to and from project sites is compensated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology required.
• Completion of an accredited archaeological field school required.
• Ability to travel extensively for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase I–III archaeological investigations in the South, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast US.
• Support identification of artifacts during shovel test pit or test unit excavation.
• Travel as needed for project work and field assignments.
