Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a part-time Archaeological Field Technician to support Phase I–III investigations. A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Archaeology/Anthropology and field experience are required. Preference given to Texas/Southern US history expertise.

TN visa eligible candidates may apply. Fieldwork dominates, with occasional office tasks. Salary ranges from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field.
• Experience in all phases of archaeological investigation.
• Preference for Texas/Southern US history knowledge.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project and Senior Archaeologists during field work.
• Assist with survey, excavation, and data collection.
• Identify artifacts encountered during excavations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
