Job description

Position Overview

Part‑time faculty in the Fire Protection Technology Department at Portland Community College, Cascade Campus. This interest pool will be considered for substitute and full‑term class assignments as needs arise each academic year.

Employment is limited to individuals residing in Oregon or Washington.

Responsibilities

• Teach Fire Protection Technology courses, including lecture and lab components.


• Develop and update course materials and assessments.


• Participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.


• Provide meaningful feedback and guidance to students.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Fire Protection Technology or related field from an accredited institution.


• Minimum 2 years full‑time or 4 years part‑time recent teaching experience (including leading training and skill‑based techniques).


• 5 years recent experience as a career firefighter or 10 years recent experience as a volunteer firefighter (or an equivalent combination).


• Required academic transcripts submitted within 2 weeks of offer date.
