Job description

Position Summary

Portland Community College is accepting applications for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in Dealer Service Technology at the Rock Creek Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part‑time faculty in this area throughout the academic year. Applications may be considered for substitute or full‑term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications

• Education: Caterpillar Specific certification in all areas of instruction required within the first year of hire for full‑time faculty. AAS or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in diesel service or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Experience: Five years of recent diesel service experience required. Recent experience teaching at the college level or industry trainer experience or a combination of full‑time equivalent college teaching and industry trainer experience may be substituted, year for year, for recent diesel service experience.

Part‑time Faculty Compensation at PCC

Newly hired Part‑Time Faculty will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
