Job summary

A leading community college in Portland, Oregon, is seeking qualified applicants for Part-Time Faculty positions in Auto Collision Repair. Ideal candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, I-CAR training, as well as five years of industry experience. Teaching experience is preferred, and ASE certification is required within the first year. Qualifications

  • I-CAR certification required within the first year of hire.
  • Teach elements of Auto Collision Repair effectively.
  • Five years full-time on-the-line experience in Auto Collision Repair with some knowledge of Auto Body Painting.
  • Three or more years of supervisory work experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry.
  • ASE certification must be obtained within the first year of hire.
  • Preferred: AAS (or higher) in Auto Collision Repair Technology; teaching preparation coursework; five years current on-the-line experience; five years teaching experience; five years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Auto Collision Repair courses at Rock Creek Campus.
  • Provide a collaborative learning environment.

Job description

Part‑Time Faculty – Auto Collision Repair

Please note: PCC currently limits employment to individuals residing in Oregon and Washington. Employment offers are contingent upon the ability to establish residence in Oregon or Washington. Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part‑Time Faculty assignments in Auto Collision Repair at the Rock Creek Campus. This is not a specific open position but a part‑time faculty interest pool from which assignments will be identified as needed during the academic year.

Instructor Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • I‑CAR Training in Auto Collision Repair
  • Five (5) years full‑time “on the line” experience in Auto Collision Repair with some technical knowledge of Auto Body Painting
  • Three (3) or more years of supervisory work experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry

ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification in Auto Collision Repair is required within the first year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AAS (or higher) in Auto Collision Repair Technology
  • Teacher’s preparation coursework
  • Five (5) years current full‑time “on the line” experience in Auto Collision Repair with some technical knowledge of Auto Body Painting
  • Five (5) years recent experience teaching elements of Auto Collision Repair
  • Five (5) years supervisory experience in the Auto Collision Repair industry

Newly hired Part‑Time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
