Part Time Faculty Interest Pool – Computer Information Systems

Portland Community College is seeking candidates for part-time faculty assignments in the Computer Information Systems Department at the Sylvania Campus. The Department will review applications in this pool as needed for new part-time faculty positions during the academic year. Applicants may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or STEM-related bachelor’s degree
  • Four (4) years full-time equivalent non-teaching industry experience in the field.
Related Instruction

CIS 120, CIS 121, and CIS 122 include embedded Related Instruction in Computation.

To teach these courses, instructors must have completed college-level algebra or higher mathematics.

Part-time Faculty Compensation: Hourly rates determined based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). Newly hired Part-Time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
