Position Overview

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part‑time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file. After each fiscal year end the application will expire and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.

Essential Duties

• Apply design principles across various media and projects.
• Create and edit digital photography assets.
• Develop and design websites.
• Produce 3D animations for visual communication.
• Plan, produce, and edit video content.
• Design page layouts for print and digital formats.
• Develop logos and corporate identities.
• Design and refine user experiences (UX) and user interfaces (UI).
• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite software products to complete design tasks.

Rate of Pay

$765 per credit hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Graphic Design or a related field is preferred.
• Instructional experience at a community college or other post‑secondary institution is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software.
• Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority.
• Ability to use an online platform (such as Canvas or Blackboard), online delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project‑based, service learning, or inquiry‑based learning will be given special consideration.

Physical Demands

The job requires frequent manipulation of items with fingers, keyboarding, sitting, standing, walking; constant use of hearing, repetitive motion, talking; and close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and visual inspection at close distances.

Environmental Conditions

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
