Part‑Time Instructor – Computer Information Systems

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks qualified part‑time instructors for the Computer Information Systems program. Instructors will teach courses in Computer Programming, Computer Networking (including Cisco), Web Design, and Microsoft Office Applications on a term‑by‑term basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials and presentations.
• Explain subject concepts using a variety of teaching methods and strategies.
• Develop and share a classroom management plan.
• Deliver classroom instruction, demonstrate skills, assess student progress, and correct unsafe or poor techniques.
• Utilize Success Planner to track daily attendance.
• Meet deadlines for reporting and grading; maintain grade sheets for documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree in the field (or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in business).
• Three years of teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching ability; instructional experience at a community college a priority.
• Leadership experience at a community college or educational institution a plus.
• Ability to use an online platform; experience with online delivery and technology for instruction.
• Experience or interest in project‑based, service learning, or inquiry‑based learning will be given special consideration.
• Physical capability to manipulate items with fingers (keyboarding), sit, stand, walk, hear, perform repetitive motions, and talk.

Compensation

Rate of pay: $765 per credit hour.
