Montgomery College – Rockville Campus, is seeking a part-time faculty member in Applied Geography for Fall 2026. Duties include classroom instruction, assessment, and using instructional technology.
Open Educational Resources (OERs) are used to save costs. Teaching may be face-to-face, online, hybrid, or blended across three campuses.
Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment. The hiring decision for part‑time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.

We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic, dedicated, self‑motivated, and exhibits a high degree of professionalism with a strong commitment to the success of our students. The successful candidate must exhibit the ability to educate in an engaging manner.
The candidate will be committed to teaching in a multi‑cultural, two‑year environment (i.e., a career program offering an A.A.S. in Applied Geography as well as certificates in Cartography/G.I.S. and Geographic Education) with students of all ages, varying levels of education. Montgomery College provides an excellent opportunity to teach in a large, urban community college setting with three campuses. Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, and utilizing instructional technology. The majority of our courses use open educational resources (OERs) to yield cost savings for the students and the most current content for faculty. Incoming faculty will utilize OERs in alignment with the other faculty in the discipline.
Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, on‑line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends. Montgomery College has three campuses. Faculty may be assigned to any of these campuses and/or teaching online.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
