The New York Times Company is seeking a staff editor to fact-check episodes of Hard Fork, in video and audio, within a fast-paced newsroom in New York City.

You will collaborate with producers and editors to verify facts, ensure accuracy, tone and context, and help maintain journalistic independence. This part-time role starts at 20 hours per week and may scale up, with in-office attendance and potential remote flexibility per guidance.

Formación

• 3 or more years of fact-checking experience.
• Available to work evenings as needed.
• Experience with audio or video journalism is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Check factual assertions in podcast and video episodes on deadline.
• Verify prep documents and listen during live recordings to track facts.
• Review transcripts and captions for accuracy and attribution.
• Provide editing guidance to ensure fairness and clarity.
