Job summary

Oregon State University’s Recreational Sports department seeks part-time facility maintenance specialists to support building spaces and equipment on campus in Corvallis. The roles are limited to 24 hours per week, aligned with academic schedules, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnosing systems, and completing general trades tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
• Required First Aid, CPR/AED for the Healthcare Provider and DRS Bloodborne Pathogens certifications are required before employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building facilities and equipment, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing building systems and equipment under limited supervision.
• Support maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems (pumps, motors, controls, lighting).
• Complete general facility maintenance tasks, including lighting replacement, to support daily operations and user safety.
• Execute electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks independently or with minimal supervision.
