Job summary

The Salvation Army in Charleston, WV is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant to handle cleaning, minor maintenance, and event setup. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to follow directions.

You will clean bathrooms, floors, windows, and common areas, maintain storage spaces, and assist with lighting checks and grounds upkeep. A valid driver's license is required and a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• One year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, toilets and fixtures.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, strip, buff and wax floors.
• Clean windows and dust/polish furniture.
• Empty trash daily and maintain grounds and storage areas.
• Set up tables/ chairs for meetings and events; assist with signs.
• Interact professionally with the public and Salvation Army staff.
