Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Maintenance Worker responsible for facility upkeep and transportation of goods to support the mission.

You will supervise volunteers, keep the building clean, and ensure rooms are prepared. A valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training are required, with background checks conducted. This role requires English communication and basic computer skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Background checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
• Experience: Some experience in building maintenance or custodial services preferred
• Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteer workers who provide general custodial duties
• Assure the facility is cleaned and maintained appropriately including cleaning fixtures, mopping, trash removal, sweeping floors, cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture and building fixtures, vacuuming and restroom sanitizing
• Prepare rooms for activities, ensuring that there is requestion equipment available
• Monitor equipment and perform routine upkeep and minor repairs as required to maintain the safety of the environment
• Pickup food donation and deliver food/equipment as needed
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership
