Job summary

The Salvation Army in Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Worker to maintain the facility and handle transportation of goods to support our mission. You will oversee volunteers, keep areas clean, prep rooms for activities, monitor equipment, and assist with food donation pickups and deliveries.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to learn reporting systems. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Background checks: a background check is required and reviewed.
• Experience: some maintenance or custodial experience preferred.
• Licenses: valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteers who perform general custodial duties.
• Keep the facility clean: fixtures, mopping, trash removal, floors, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, restrooms.
• Prepare rooms for activities and ensure required equipment is available.
• Monitor equipment and perform routine upkeep and minor repairs.
• Pickup and deliver food donations and equipment as needed.
• Other tasks as requested by leadership.
