Job summary

High Tech Middle Point Loma is seeking an Expanded Learning Assistant - Aftercare to support our afterschool program. The role is part-time, hourly, and on-site at High Tech High's Point Loma campus.

The position involves mentoring, tutoring, activity leadership, and helping with enrichment opportunities after school. The program aims to provide a safe, quiet space for study and extra tutoring, with engaging activities and assistance with virtual learning and homework as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students.
• Ability to work well with school-aged students.
• Comfortable leading enrichment activities with students; communicate effectively.
• Ability to inform and communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school-aged children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students.
• Take attendance to ensure that all students are accounted for.
• Plan, develop and run engaging student activities.
• Assist students with virtual learning activities and homework assignments.
• Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
