Job summary

High Tech High North County - San Marcos is seeking an Expanded Learning Assistant for aftercare. The role supports mentors, tutors, activity leaders, and coaches, providing a safe study space and enrichment opportunities after school.

The position is on-campus and in-person, with an hourly pay framework and no benefits. Requirements include a high school diploma and experience with students; background checks are required before employment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students.
• Ability to work well with school-aged students.
• Comfortable leading enrichment activities with students and inform and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school-aged children indoors and outdoors.
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students.
• Take attendance to ensure that all students are accounted for.
• Plan, develop and run engaging student activities.
• Assist students with virtual learning activities and homework assignments.
• Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols.
• Perform related duties as assigned
