Job summary

Harford Community College is seeking an Event Technician to support a variety of live events on campus. Duties include backstage construction, painting, hanging and focusing lights, and running audio for theatrical, musical, and dance performances. Training is provided for entry-level candidates.

Hours vary by show requirements, with day, evening and weekend shifts. This is a part-time, as-needed position, with a yearly cap of 500 hours for such staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with backstage tasks: construction, painting, hanging, lighting focus, and running audio.
• Build and paint props; hang fly system components for theatre, music, and dance shows.
• Provide technical support for lectures, ceremonies and conferences; assist as directed by Technical Director.
