Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Telemetry Technician for full-time night shifts. You will perform telemetry monitoring to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions, attach lead lines, prepare skin for valid results, and document ECG readings as directed.

Responsibilities include continuous monitor surveillance, identifying arrhythmias or distress, correcting artifacts, and forwarding results to the attending physician.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
• CPR – Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Attach electrode lead lines as ordered.
• Prepare skin and surroundings for valid results.
• Obtain and document ECG readings as directed.
• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias or signs of patient distress and intervene.
• Identify and correct artifacts.
• Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis.
• Maintain ECG equipment and supplies.
