Job summary

Grandisland is seeking a part-time GED instructor to empower adults 16 years and older in reading, writing, math, and digital literacy. You will plan engaging lessons, tailor instruction to learner needs, and maintain accurate records. Classes meet Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m.

to 8:30 p.m., with paid training and ongoing professional development provided. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (preferably) with related experience, strong communication, and computer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least one year related experience.
• Working knowledge of reading, writing, and English grammar at the high school level.
• Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Paid training and professional development provided.
• Must be able to work as a team, have good interpersonal skills and be proficient with computers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and instruct adults 16+ in GED prep (reading, writing, math, digital literacy).
• Develop lesson plans and deliver instruction based on learner needs and state standards.
• Maintain accurate student records.
• Classes run Monday–Thursday evenings 6:00–8:30 PM.
