Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs’ Bemidji Veterans Home is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for the evening shift (3:30 pm – 7:30 pm). Duties include food preparation, serving meals to residents, dishwashing, and maintaining food service areas.

Competitive hourly wages range from $20.87 to $25.88 with an additional $2.25 per hour shift differential after 6 pm; a $2,500 new-hire bonus may be available. Open to qualified applicants; Union AFSCME 203.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and serving meals.
• Ability to read diet cards and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine food service tasks including food preparation, short order cooking, serving meals to residents, dishwashing and cleaning the food service areas.
• Follow established food service policies and procedures.
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining the food service work areas.
