Job summary

East Haven Public Schools is seeking a part-time ESL - Beginners Instructor for evening sessions at the East Haven Adult Education center. The role requires a CT 088 ESL certification or 111 TESOL endorsement and 1–2 years of adult ESL teaching experience.

You will teach beginner-level English to multilingual adults, focusing on conversation skills and CELP-aligned instruction. This position offers seven evening hours per week at a homebound rate of $45.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid CT teaching certification with 088 ESL endorsement.
• 1-2 years teaching ESL in adult education setting.
• Ability to interpret data from placement tests to inform instruction.
• Flexibility in lesson planning and instruction.
• Knowledge of CELP standards and how to implement them into instruction.
• Attend professional development through ATDN.

Responsibilities
