Job summary

East Haven Public Schools is seeking a part-time ESL - Beginners Instructor for evening sessions at the East Haven Adult Education center. The role requires a CT 088 ESL certification or 111 TESOL endorsement and 1–2 years of adult ESL teaching experience.

You will teach beginner-level English to multilingual adults, focusing on conversation skills and CELP-aligned instruction. This position offers seven evening hours per week at a homebound rate of $45.00 per hour.

Qualifications

This position is a part-time position; 7 hours (Evening hours)
Homebound hourly rate $45.00/ hr.

Position Summary:

Teaching English at a beginnerslevel to multilingual adult learners. Instruction will be based on CELP standards with a strong emphasis on improvingconversation skills. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge at this level of instruction with students from a variety of cultural backgrounds and native languages. Bilingual Spanish/ English speakers are preferred. Our goal is to provide ESL instruction to students that will enable them to transition into intermeditate/ advanced class.
