Job summary

Savannah State University is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Instructor for the English Language Institute in Savannah, GA. Instructors teach ESOL courses and participate in program activities on a temporary, per-course basis.

The position pays $2,000 per 8-week course; 8-week terms, with competitive compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the role does not offer visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in TESOL, Linguistics, or a related discipline; or BA/BS with a TESOL certificate and ESOL teaching experience.
• A minimum of one year of teaching ESOL.
• Certification or experience in TESOL, Linguistics or teaching a foreign language.
• Extensive experience with MS Office Suite.
• Comfortable and enthusiastic in a wide range of groups and cross-cultural relationships.
• Experience learning a foreign language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for ESOL courses
• Provide instruction for Writing/Grammar, Reading, Listening/Speaking & Computer Assisted Learning.
• Oversee student assessment with a focus on learning outcomes
• Prepare students through culture and language instruction for entry into the university
• Perform all other duties that may be required for this position
