Job summary

ILSC Education Group in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a Temporary Associate Instructor to plan, teach and evaluate classes under the ELS curriculum for adult students, with support from AD, Instructional Specialists and Senior Instructors.

You will maintain student records, handle administrative duties, participate in professional development, and assist instructors as needed. Prior ESL teaching experience, a bachelor's degree in English or related field, and CELTA/TESOL are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or better in English or related field.
• Minimum 6 months ESL teaching experience for those without an MA in TESOL or CELTA.
• CELTA or TESOL or related field preferred.
• Master’s or better in TESOL or related field preferred.
• Master's or better in Applied Linguistics or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach SSP, Vocabulary Enrichment, Reading/Writing, LTC and SECs as assigned.
• Prepare lesson plans, exercises and tests.
• Test, evaluate and counsel students on performance.
• Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Coordinate instruction, attendance and evaluation with other teachers.
• Complete administrative paperwork and maintain records.
• Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
• Provide assistance to Instructors and substitute as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s or better in English or related field

6 months ESL teaching experience (for those who do not have an MA in TESOL or CELTA)

CELTA or TESOL or related field (preferred)

Master’s or better in TESOL or related field (preferred)

Master’s or better in Applied Linguistics or related field (preferred)
