Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking qualified candidates for Adult Education GED/ESL tutoring on the Savannah campus. This part-time role involves guiding adult learners in Math, English/Reading, Science, or Social Studies within a grant-funded program and maintaining progress records.

The tutor will use appropriate methods, provide feedback, advise students, and uphold safety and record-keeping standards while collaborating with staff and faculty.

Qualifications

• Current college student or college graduate with an overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the subject area to be tutored from a regionally accredited institution *or* outside applicant that demonstrates the ability and experience in the subject field.
• Bachelor’s degree graduate or beyond in the subject area to be tutored.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to adult education GED and ESL students in Math, English/Reading, Science, or Social Studies.
• Discuss student progress with staff and maintain advisement records for each student.
• Maintain classrooms and labs per institutional safety guidelines and keep appropriate records.
• Attend required meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment.
