Job summary

Onslow County Schools is seeking an English Learner (EL) Tutor for a part-time itinerant role delivering 18 hours per week across assigned schools. The position supports LEP students to achieve English proficiency and meet state standards while integrating into mainstream content areas.

Qualifications

• Two year Associate's Degree in Education preferred.
• Associate's Degree required (must include an emphasis in mathematics, reading, writing and content knowledge).
• Minimum 2.5 GPA required
• Teacher licensure recommended
• Experience working with diverse cultures
• Experience in English Learners

Responsibilities

• Push into classrooms, model instructional strategies and assist with instructional needs.
• Assist students in pull out sessions; one on one, in small groups or within the classroom setting aligned with LEP plans.
• Assist LEP students through blended learning approaches to attain English proficiency.
• Assist with LEP Instructional Plans in consultation with the LEP team using WIDA Can Do descriptors.
• Maintain records of student progress in Office 365 and Ellevation.
• Maintain accurate records for each LEP student at assigned schools and communicate with school personnel.
