Job summary

Onslow County Public Schools is seeking a part-time Tutor for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves up to 18 hours per week, with a 5-month term and a personal vehicle requirement. Compensation ranges from $15/hour for non-licensed candidates to $25/hour for those with a current teaching license.

Qualifications

  • Two year Associate's Degree in Education or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least Associate's Degree required with emphasis in mathematics, reading, writing and content knowledge.
  • Experience working with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic assistance to assigned tutees, group or individual.
  • Follow all rules, policies and procedures of Onslow County Schools.
  • Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying.
  • Help students develop self-confidence and reduce fear of failure in academic work.
  • Help students develop study skills necessary for academic success.
  • Establish rapport and serve as a role model for students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform duties as requested by the principal.
